Dr. Samantha You is a general dentist and co-founder of Astro Pediatric Dentistry in Fairfield, New Jersey. With a rich background in academics, youth mentorship, and complex clinical training, she brings a rare combination of intellectual rigor and natural warmth to every patient she sees.
Before dentistry, Dr. You spent years in academic consulting and curriculum development, working closely with students from middle school through college. That foundation — knowing how to build trust with teenagers, how to meet them on their terms, and how to have real conversations about goals and growth — is something she brings directly into her clinical work. For tweens, teens, and young adults who often feel like they've "aged out" of kid-friendly dental offices, Dr. You is the provider who finally feels like the right fit.

Dr. You was on call at Westchester Medical Center and Northwell Phelps Hospital, gaining hands-on experience in emergency dentistry, operating room cases, and the treatment of medically complex and special needs patients. High-volume clinical rotations across multiple settings gave her the autonomy, clinical decision-making, and composure under pressure that distinguishes her practice today.
A mentor, a host,
and a champion for kids
For more than 20 years, Dr. You has been involved in church youth ministry, walking alongside children as they grow from childhood into adulthood and serving as a mentor and source of support through different seasons of life. She has also participated in mission trips to Thailand, and together with Dr. Cha, she and her family support orphanages in Thailand and Myanmar. That long commitment to children in her community and around the world is inseparable from who she is as a dentist.
At home, Dr. You enjoys bringing friends and family together through thoughtful gatherings, from menu planning to table décor. She and Dr. Cha share a love of travel, and she looks forward to continuing to expand their family’s community impact through their practice in the years ahead.
