Baby Root Canals: Inside every one of your child's teeth is an area called the tooth pulp that contains nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. A baby root canal treats a primary tooth's inner pulp that's been affected by decay or damage, preserving it and maintaining its function until it is ready to fall out naturally. Depending on the extent of the damage, we may recommend a pulpotomy or pulpectomy.

• Pulpotomy: This procedure treats a tooth when the infection is limited to its crown. It involves removing the damaged pulp and placing a medicated material to calm and protect the remaining healthy tissue. A pediatric crown will protect the tooth, keeping it strong and functional.
• Pulpectomy: If the damage affects a tooth's entire pulp, including the roots, we may recommend a pulpectomy. This involves removing the diseased pulp tissues, cleaning the root canals, and placing a special resorbable material that protects the tooth until it falls out naturally. Like with a pulpotomy, we will place a dental crown for protection.

Pediatric Dental Crowns: A pediatric dental crown covers the entire visible portion of a tooth, helping protect it and fortify its structure. We may recommend a crown for a weak, severely decayed, or structurally compromised tooth, or for a tooth that's undergone a baby root canal treatment.
